Lots of news from our customers and friends at Canter’s Delicatessen this week; some good, some very sad.
All of us at RC Provision mourn the untimely passing of Gary Canter, who passed away recently at the age of 58. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
Today, Tuesday, January 9, 2018, marks the 70th anniversary of Canter’s on Fairfax in Los Angeles. Canter’s Deli started in New Jersey in 1924, then moved to Boyle Heights in East Los Angeles in 1931 where it was called Canter Brothers. The restaurant was then moved across town to Fairfax in 1948, and has remained there to this day.
The deli is celebrating with 70-cent pastrami or veggie Reubens today only.
